Julia Marshall is the design and development consultant to the Alameda County Office of Education’s Integrated Learning Specialist Program for which she guides curriculum and instruction in the Integrated Learning Specialist Program, a professional development program for classroom teachers, teaching artists and school administrators. Her interests and scholarship lie in art-centered learning, creative art-based inquiry, arts integration and the role of contemporary art in the classroom. Julia has published a series of articles on these interconnecting topics in American and British art education books and journals. The co-author with David M. Donahue of Art Centered Learning Across the Curriculum: Integrating Contemporary Art Into the Secondary School Classroom published by Teachers College Press, Dr. Marshall is on the editorial board of Studies in Art Education and the Research Commission of the National Art Education Association.
