Deadline to be announced - The Martin Wong Scholarship was founded in 2002 with the goal of providing scholarships in the visual arts. The scholarships are in memory of artist Martin Wong, who was active professionally in California and New York. The Art Department Scholarship Review Committee nominates students on the basis of merit to the Martin Wong Foundation. Funds are made available after the 4th week census of the Fall Semester. Judgements by the Scholarship Review Committee and the Martin Wong Foundation are final. We will begin accepting applications in the spring 2010 semester.
Award:
2 Scholarships will be awarded in both Painting and Ceramics
- First prize in each media - $1500.00
- Second prize in each media - $1000.00
- Full-time Undergraduate art major (12 unit min.) or Classified Graduate art major (9 unit min.)
- Painting emphasis and Ceramic emphasis Art majors only
- San Francisco State University, Art Department Student
- Enrolled in the Fall semester of the scholarship term
- Good academic standing
- Creative work demonstrates commitment to painting and/or ceramic studio practice
- Academic excellence
- Documentation of work: up to 20 slides in a slide sleeve - slides must be labelled and numbered in viewing order.
- Digital portfolios meeting the folowing requirements will be accepted. Files not matching specifications will not be reviewed.

Recipient Obligations:
