Deadline to be announced - The Strauss Scholarship for Photography is given annually on the basis of merit as determined by the Art Department Scholarship Review Committee. Between $200-$1000 is awarded and may be divided between two or more students. Funds are given after the 4th week census of the Fall Semester. Judgment of the Review Committee is final. We will be begin accepting application in the spring 2010 semester.
Award:
1 or more Scholarships totaling between $200 - $1000 will be awarded in Photography
Eligibility:
- Student must be continuing full-time first semester senior, at SF State, for Fall 2010 majoring in art with an emphasis in Photography
- Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Criteria:
- Creative work demonstrates commitment to photography as a studio practice
- Academic excellence
Application Submission Materials:
- Scholarship Application Form
- Submit a slide/digital portfolio of 10-15 photo works
- Submit photographs as:
- Either slides: submit in carousel or Ektagraphic 80 slide tray and box. Absolutely no 140 slide trays will be accepted. Tray must be labeled with name, address and phone number.
- OR CD: Images should be jpeg files. Expanded file size 10MB maximum.
- Include a complete slide list identifying each work with medium, size, and date. (You must submit 8 copies of this)
- Include a one page typewritten statement about the work. Statement must be labeled with name, address, and phone number. (You must submit 8 copies of this)
